Baroque Neapolitan Mandolin This instrument is modeled after an instrument made by the great mandolin maker Antonio Vinaccia. The original was made in 1763 and is now in a private collection in France. Instrument features:

Each pattern is designed according to the inspiration at the moment, but are based on designs found on historical instruments. The front decorations are set into the wood within an outlining matrix. This is a style of inlay was used extensively by the Vinaccia family in the 18th century to set the pattern away from the wood and makes it more visible. The engraving is executed with by hand based on the original Vinaccia designs.
