A lot of lute players are looking for a slightly smaller instrument to either facilitate the execution of difficult music, or to simply have a more comfortable instrument to play. For whatever reason, if you are looking for a smaller instrument you should consider this one. It is based on an instrument in the Bolonga AcademiaFilarinonica was made in Padua by Vendelio Venere in 1592. The original is a seven course lute with a string length approximately 58.4cm. The neck has eight tied frets and there are four fixed frets attached to the front.
